INSTRUCTORS
James F. Ranville
James F. Ranville, Full Professor of Chemistry and Geochemistry, Colorado School of Mines, USA, has over 25 years of experience in the study of nanomaterials and colloids, particularly in regards to the development of nanoparticle (NP) characterization methods, nanoecotoxicology, and environmental fate. He is a recognized leader in the development of ICP-MS methods for NP analysis.

Alison Elder
Alison Elder, Associate Professor of Environmental Medicine, University of Rochester, USA, received her PhD in Environmental Toxicology from the University of California, Irvine. She is an inhalation toxicologist who studies the inflammatory and oxidative stress-related effects of engineered nanomaterials and ambient air particulate matter in the respiratory, central nervous, and cardiovascular systems. Particle biokinetics and the impacts of age and other underlying vulnerabilities on response are also of interest. Dr. Elder is the deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nanotoxicology and serves on the Threshold Limit Value-Chemical Substances committee of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists.
